Update 1C: tools and methods
Competent construction of a complex of programs implies that the method of their updating will be based on a standardized and as simple as possible procedure. That is, to use the technology of automatic installation of new additional products, “patches” and the next versions of programs from the interfaces of programs already installed. An alternative is an update installation file that is received by the client by mail or sent out in some other way. 1C update meets these criteria.
The company being the client of this or that 1C-dealer can use services of this company-the representative. Usually it comes down to authorization on the site and selective download of necessary files-updates over the network. Downloaded updates are installed as regular programs using the installer. Also, update files can be purchased and downloaded from the 1C website. the Meaning of the procedure remains the same: we authenticate on the page “1C:software Update” and select the desired application. Another way is to update the standard configuration using the developer tool “Configurator”. To do this, run 1C in the Configurator mode and perform the following operations:
Go to the “Administration” menu and select ” Upload database»;
back up the current database;
expand the tree of objects of the updated configuration in the Configurator (“Configuration” – > ” Open configuration»);
perform action “Configuration” – > “Support” – > “Update configuration”.
The semi-automatic upgrade wizard starts, answering the questions of which you can accurately and quickly transfer the system to the new version. As always, there is one significant “but”: do not use this tool to update the” custom ” configurations. All deviations from the standard will simply disappear! During the installation of the new version, the wizard will ask questions. For example, it will ask if you want to download update templates and where from? You will be prompted for an alternative address to download the update. Ask: should I immediately apply modifications to your current working base?
Update information support
The tasks of 1C customer support service include information support of updates. This means that any registered user of the product can receive timely and complete information about the released and planned updates. This information can be obtained using the service “1C:software Update”. The service has additional options:
Informing users about the relevance of certain versions of the product;
Downloading update distributions;
Informing about noticed problems in the system;
Publishing test releases of updates;
Providing documentation for updates and other valuable files.
As you can see, no one is forgotten and nothing is forgotten.
